Artist Biography
Bryan Ojeda Chevres is a concert pianist whose artistry combines lyrical depth and virtuosic intensity. Praised for performances that blend emotional sensitivity with intellectual clarity, he has captivated audiences across Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean. He has
performed in venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Ojeda Chevres began his piano studies at the age of five. He later attended the Escuela Libre de Música Ernesto Ramos Antonini in San Juan, where he studied music theory and piano. He continued his training at the Conservatorio de Música de
Puerto Rico under Teresa Acevedo and María del Carmen Gil, before earning his Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from New York University, where he studied with José Ramos Santana, a distinguished pianist and pupil of Alicia de Larrocha.
During his time at NYU, he won the university’s Concerto Competition, performing Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the NYU Symphony Orchestra under Eduardo Leandro. Throughout his career, he has performed in masterclasses and worked closely with renowned pianists such as Mykola Suk, Jorge Luis Prats, Garrick Ohlsson, Eduardus Halim, and Antonio Pompa-Baldi. He has also collaborated with distinguished conductors and musicians such as Roselín Pabón, Maximiano Valdés, Francesco D’Ovidio, cellist Luis Miguel Rojas, clarinetist Kathleen Jones and pianist José Ramos Santana, among others.
As a soloist, he has collaborated many times with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, most recently performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 under the baton of Maximiano Valdés. He has also been invited multiple times to perform at the Festival Casals in Puerto Rico, one of
Latin America’s most prestigious classical music festivals. His other festival appearances include the Art of Piano Festival, Málaga International Piano Festival, Todi International Music Masters, and Puerto Piano and Strings Festival. Together with Hollywood composer Emmanuel Segarra, they co-founded the Young Artist Concert Series and Orchestra in Puerto Rico, an organization dedicated to spotlighting Puerto
Rican musicians and composers.
This season 2025/2026, Ojeda Chevres made his Massachusetts debut with the Lincoln Sudbury Civic Orchestra on June 2025 under Alfonso Piacentini, performing Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor and he also performed with the Puerto Rico Symphony on March 2026 under Maximiano Valdes with Beethoven Piano Concerto Op.57 no.4 in G major to great acclaim. He also was selected as one of only fifty pianists in New York City to participate in the North American premiere of Georg Friedrich Haas’s monumental work 11,000 Strings, presented at the Park Avenue Armory.
An active interpreter of both the classical canon and contemporary music, Ojeda Chevres’s recent projects explore the intersection of Latin American identity and modern pianism, with a focus on recording and performing works by Puerto Rican composers such as Jack Délano,
Alfonso Fuentes, Manuel Tavárez, Roberto Sierra, and Héctor Campos Parsi, among others. His newest initiative bridges classical performance with video game music, reimagining scores by composers such as Nobuo Uematsu and Koji Kondo and bringing them to the concert stage.
Beyond the stage, Ojeda Chevres is deeply engaged as an educator, having served as AdjunctPiano Faculty at New York University and now teaching at the Third Street Music School Settlement in New York City, where he cultivates creativity and technical excellency.
